We all know it’s national ice cream month, but did you know we also celebrate National pickle month in July too? Cucumbers are in season and whether you like dill, sweet, bread & butter, or Kool-Aid pickles (a.k.a. “Koolickles”, yes there’s such a thing), here are some other ways to celebrate “pickles” this month around the Portland/Vancouver area while eating your favorite snack:
Portland Pickles – Founded in 2015, the Portland Pickles baseball team is a collegiate summer baseball league based in the PNW and British Columbia. A great family event you’re sure to love. You can catch a game at Walker Stadium this month!
Pickle Ball – Have you tried the latest sport? Founded in 1965 in Washington state, you can play with two or four players. Give it a try, you might find a new hobby and become a Picklehead! Click for Court locations Portland / Vancouver Courts
Fun Fact – The state of Maine consumes the most pickles. Oregon comes in at #18 and Washington at #32. Americans eat more than 9 pounds of pickles a year (per person)!
